From our personal experience in business creation for over three decades, immersion is the only way you will ever know if an idea you’ve had for growth or improvement will work.  Maybe it won’t, but how will you ever know without jumping in?  The essence of effective Blue Ocean Strategy thinking really is about focusing on the big picture, not the numbers.  Many times, it is the over planning, over analysis and number crunching which kills the momentum of an otherwise promising path.  Obviously, the business model must pay out, but there will never be a business without first the idea.  BOS is an incredibly effective process to channel your ideas into winning businss innovations.
